From the catacombs of the dark death metal genre, Insineratehymn makes a thunderous return with "Disembodied." This is an album that is as haunting as it is visceral, offering an unapologetic look into the gruesome underbelly of the genre. It's a piece of work that resonates with the relentless aggression and technical proficiency that the band has always been known for.
Starting with the track, "Visceral Ignominy," Insineratehymn sets a tone that's simultaneously spine-chilling and riveting. The unbridled fury of the double bass drums and intricate riffing, combined with guttural vocals, creates an aura of sheer terror and heart-pounding energy. The band's ability to deliver complex rhythmical structures, as well as their skills in writing profoundly dark and evocative lyrics, come to the forefront in this opening salvo.
Next, "Corporeal Inception" is an intense heavy piece that keeps the adrenaline high. The track pushes the boundaries of the genre, merging an almost atmospheric touch to the brutal death metal landscape. The guitarists deserve applause for their effortless interplay, creating a rich tapestry of rapid-fire solos and monstrous riffs.
"Immolated Ascension" is the album's emotional zenith. While still maintaining the relentless ferocity, the song feels deeply sorrowful, bordering on melancholic. The powerful, growled vocals evoke a sense of desperation and torment. The rhythm section is particularly noteworthy on this track, driving the song forward with an implacable momentum.
Throughout the album, Insineratehymn never lose their grasp on their signature sound: a brutal, technical, and atmospheric fusion of death metal. There's an undeniable sense of raw power and virtuosity in their sound, which, when combined with their profoundly dark lyricism, makes for an immersive listening experience.
